Orienting towards the good, rather than towards the doom. It's a shame that scepticism so often is conflated with contrarianism - a bias towards noncomformity is still a bias.
You know people might hate a lot on Elon Musk but there's a good example that he looks at the odds straight in the face every time and then does what he can to bring in the best minds and face those problems with full awareness that the odds are against them.
I think the topic of faith is adjacent to the topic of hope. When you build a bridge, you have a blueprint of it with the math that proves it will hold. You know what materials to build it with and how to build it. Its all on the blueprint. But the bridge doesn't exist physically yet.
Hebriews 11:1 "Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, [a]the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]."
Faith is like math. We have the evidence. We just have to build the bridge now.
I am very hopeful. Solving the problem of intelligence will unlock a whole lot of other things. Truth will become more evident as viewpoints are shared efficaciously via short form videos, our medias have evolved to encompass different opinions. This will mean a better overall perspective. Being closer to truth will elevate us all and bring the depth that is needed in our fleeting narrative. Finally thanks to AI we might not need to work any longer, giving us the time for other noble pursuits... Negativity bias is a thing and dramatising the information brings attention.
