I've been experiencing a persistent state of anxiety since launching my Substack in November, regularly questioning if I have anything valuable to share. So thank you, Peter, for this article. It provided the exact encouragement I needed to continue pushing myself. I invite the rest of you to bring your voices forward too. Together, I trust we can make a difference.

I loved this post Peter! My immediate reaction was that this metric (overconfident / underconfident) is heavily influenced by things like class, gender, etc. The confidence to speak boldly, to put oneself forward, to risk being wrong and so forth, is encouraged is some people and discouraged in others not only in the context of school but in society at large.

I agree that there's great human capability left unvoiced by 'servility'. The agenda-free workshop practice for groups that I'm continually developing unlocks this servility, and lets anyone discover the distinctiveness of their own orientation through the noticings and appreciation of others. The result is an unusual mix of affirmation and humility

Been thinking about this concept in regards to my church. Im at a palpable crossroads, have been for a while. about a year. I do not want to overestimate my beliefs and ideas, im not plato. But there are things that i have not been willing to say simply because i like the people, and im afraid if i talk too much and too honestly i could end up getting removed from membership--my views have shifted away from their doctrinal statement--i even believe they would be gracious about it--all that being said, i have decided to begin speaking more honestly, and letting the chips land where they may. I don't want to be foolish, but i want to be honest and see what happens

this resonated. Thanks man

The primary reason we are so confused, misdirected, and unspiritual too, is that our consciousness has been programmed to adapt to the views of men who have not been Enlightened by the Realization of God - which is of course deemed to not in any way possible.

We are mind rather than intelligence - especially left-brained Spirit killing mind.

We do not openly Commune with what Is, and the One Who Is. Therefore, we must be liberated from false adaptation and self-defense, and we must be restored to the primal or ecstatic disposition of Divine Ignorance in the midst of conditions. Then we do not resort to man and mind, but we are sensitive to conditions themselves, prior to speech and mind. The brain and nervous system can then Commune, or Abide in unobstructed continuity, with the Radiant Current and Process of Existence, and the Great Secret will be revealed to consciousness.

Because of the left-brained presumption of separation and independence, we are constitutionally divorced from the Infinite Condition wherein we have, as if out of nowhere appeared. We are separated from our primal Food-Source. Human beings are not merely hungry. We are starving. We cannot hope to be satisfied, and, therefore, our hunger has become doubt, unlove, fear, self-possession, self-indulgence, violence, dis-ease, and a death that is not merely a change of state but a suppression of existence to the point of the illusion of annihilation. However, there is Wisdom to the point of freedom, and not merely or only immortality but Eternal Bliss in God. There is Truth, Sustenance, Light, and Life. There is Awakening, even bodily, to the utter Consciousness and Radiance or Love that is God and Truth.

I feel like this is missing the fact that higher intelligence is not even. The body and brain has finite resources and tends to go all in on one area the smarter you get. We seem to think that genius is across the board G but it absolutely the opposite of that. It runs from very detailed small picture intelligence to very broad and general big picture intelligence. It is the extremes that make you highly intelligent. We think prodigy are weird freaks of nature who burn out and never reach genius. Actually what is happening is they are only finding a subset of the group and forcing them to be reproducers instead of creators. The most brilliant people are the creatives. The creatives are not easily harnessed. They reach their peak much later in life than average. So they are never really served by our systems. They do what they want to do, are driven to focus on what they want to focus on or they physically die of their misery from not being able to. There is already a huge portion of the population that is too smart for their own good. They are so smart they do not fit into the systems or society. If we get smarter we will not get a better as a world of techies. We actually end up with more creatives who want to do their own thing and just be. This is why the prodigies burn out. You can't harness them, you have to set them free. I have raised or am in the process of raising 3 prodigies and I can tell you everything in our system works against them. For the sake of the environment I hope we get smarter. It will just break the entire system faster.
