June 6th, 2020
Summer is almost here and its promise is already delivering. It is beautiful out. I went for a drive, to a local pop-up coffee shop, and got myself two cortados, because two cortados are always better than one.
I was driving around the city, seeing pretty girls that I will never pursue, while discovering new music that hits the right spot. I am feeling horny, in the right way, and endlessly romantic. Words are not needed to describe this feeling, but I am feeling the promise of adventure, and it is one of my favorite feelings. It is one of those feelings that makes you stupid enough to do the thing you always wanted to do.
I think of Christoph in moments like these, that holy wildman, who can transmute the profane into something sacred with the subtlest of gestures. The moment is his canvas, and his endless thumos is his paintbrush, and I have so much to learn from him. He is one of my best friends, and he lives in Vancouver at the moment, and I am ready to jump back in my car and go on a 40 hour road trip to see him.
We will get drunk, and write poetry, and risk being perverts, in a poetic way. Most importantly we will worship the promise of adventure together, while we stumble our way in and out of trouble. Staying in this promise will remove our existential debt and it will allow us to wanderlust with wonder.
I am so bored of all the nerdy philosophical determinists weighing us down with their ugly predictability. I do not want the predictable, I want adventure, because in order to breathe life into our lives we need to hold on to this promise. We cannot hold tightly though, we need to hold onto it like a delicate lover, who barely can contain the abundance of his intensity.
This lover knows when to caress the back of the neck, and when to tease the breast, and when to nibble on that spot right above the hip. This lover is not shy in allowing his beard to tickle all the right places, with a beastly hunger, that is ready to taste what so badly wants to be tasted.
And he will taste, in a wild way that blurs the lines between being selfish and selfless, between being completely in control and being completely out of control. You cannot tell the difference, but you will trust him, and you do not know why you trust him, because you do not need to know why.
In this promise you do not need to consult with the determinists, even if they are right. We will feel free, and that feeling will be our self-fulfilling prophecy. This promise promises you will be deeply filled, with a prophetic love, because that is what this adventurer deeply desires to give.
