Write like every day is your last.
I think that will be my new motto here.
Every adventure needs a motto or two.
Driving on the highway to Ottawa on Friday I was listening to Rural Alberta Advantage again, and feeling that oh so sweet Canadian innocence. I was listening to Stamp on repeat. There was something about it that made me want to sing to myself repeatedly. I am listening to it on repeat now.
I do not want to live on repeat though. Reliving old patterns. Dancing with familial ghosts. Living those zombie dreams. I was drinking in Ottawa, and I got over drinking in Ottawa. I am over drinking in general. I do not think I have a problem, but I do think I drink too much for a man on a mission. It is time for sacrifices. No more drinking, at least until I get to my daemonic destination. Every adventure needs a sacrifice or two.
I was looking for a reset and I did not find one, so I have to dig deep and create one. I like that. I like just saying fuck it and riding with whatever is. I may not write everyday but when I write I will write like it is my last day, because that is how I want to ride from here on out. Changes are coming to The Stoa. They will come slowly but they are coming and change is good when you can ride with what is.
This Stoic cowboy has finally jumped on his horse, with a locked-and-loaded thumos, and a makeshift plan in hand. Rumors had it that I was horseless. Not true. I was coyly pretending I was horseless. My horse is somewhat untamed, but he will do. But now is not the time for more words. Now it is time to ride.
